GNARBEAR Shreds was born from a lifetime of creativity, grit, and the kind of adventures that leave a scar or two - and a good story. Over 40 years ago, we were exploring the bush on mountain bikes long before purpose-built trails and flow zones existed. It was raw, wild, and often held together with duct tape and good luck - until one crash too many forced us off the saddle and into a new chapter.

That chapter became Glen Cowans’ Studio at the Roundhouse - now one of Australia’s most successful underwater photographic art galleries, and the Trip Advisor highest-rated gallery in Fremantle, Western Australia. For years, we explored the depths of the ocean through photography and film, telling visual stories from a world few get to see firsthand.

Then COVID hit!

Like many, we sought escape - and rediscovered it on two wheels. With a nudge from Louise and two full-suspension eMTBs, we returned to the trails, falling back in love with the dirt, climbs, and descents that shaped our youth.

That spark of reconnection led to GNARBEAR Shreds - our creative expression of trail life, brought to the surface as wearable art. Every design we create tells a story of grit, flow, stoke, and sometimes glorious failure. Whether you're chasing berms in the backcountry, sipping coffee on a Sunday, or turning up to a dinner in "just a T-shirt" that turns heads, our gear fits. We don’t just make shirts. We create conversation starters - pieces that speak to the soul of adventure and the people bold enough to live it. Alongside tees, you’ll find mugs, caps, tote bags, and posters - each designed with heart, humour, and a healthy respect for the ride.

Thanks for joining us on this journey — the trail may change, but the stoke never does.
